Virginia Military finished the year 19-12 and is the highest-scoring team in the country.
VMI’s offense is led by a three-headed monster: QJ Peterson leads the way at 19.4 points per game, D.J. Covington scores 18.7 ppg and Rodney Glasgow averages 18.4 ppg.
A win would put Canisius as 22-12, tying a school record for wins in a season. The Griffs would go on the road for the second round of the tournament if they advance, paired with one of the relatively nearby teams remaining in the tournament. Teams enter a bracket after the second round.
