UAB announced Tuesday that it would no longer field a football team, becoming the first Division I school since Pacific in 1995 to cut the sport.
A strong video surfaced from inside the meeting where the team learned of its fate.

The player speaking at the end is tight end Tristan Henderson, who’s in his first year of law school at UAB. The man they’re yelling at is Alabama-Birmingham president Ray Watts.
The video was posted on YouTube by Braylon Rumph, but he tweeted he didn’t shoot it. It appears to have been shot by sophomore linebacker Jordan Ricks, who is from Birmingham (turn the phone sideways, dude!).
UAB had one of its better seasons, finishing 6-6 and becoming bowl eligible for the first time since 2004.
